Lower Cove Run Dam Site #16 The Lower Cove dam site #16 is located in Lost City approximatley 2 miles south-east of the Kimsey Run dam site. According to the local NRCS representative if the dam is constructed, it will cost taxpayers approximately $16.5 million and will take between 230-260 acres of land. The Lower Cove Run has a drainage area of 7,550 acres, only 6% of the total Lost River drainage area. If this project is continued, several families will be displaced and several others will lose prime agricultural land. Also worthy to note, the local Potomac Valley Conservation District representative, who resides in Lost City, owns property that surrounds the proposed Lower Cove dam site.
